There's always more than just the President to vote for. You get to vote for various local offices, bond issues, referendums, etc. There's usually a decent person running for some local office, and sometimes several. On the other ballot issues, you at least know definitely what it is you're voting for or against. That's why the politicians HATE to have to put such things to a vote. Plus, you can go to the caucuses, where your opinion carries way more weight than usual since hardly anyone goes to the caucuses. If you know anyone good who's running or thinking about running you can encourage them. Politics is a miserable job, and the people it's a fair bet that if someone really enjoys it, it's because they shouldn't be in office. That's how we end up with two evils to choose between. And stay out of debt and keep your powder dry.
