Hi George. I know you don't want to just "throw parts" at it, but trying a new condenser could not hurt and they are inexpensive. If you find that is not the problem, then you have just bought yourself a spare.
I always carry a spare condenser in my trucks at all times. I have had too many of them go bad to NOT have a spare with me. Each time one has went bad, the symptoms have been different. The first couple of times it happened, I was running in circles trying to trace down the problem. Now, when I have electrical problems, the condenser is the first thing I check - and more often than not it turns out to be the problem.
