I posted a few weeks back about my 65 WM300 Power Wagon (tired 251) which I had driven on a hot day. It restarted after a long drive and ran a minute or so then stopped. This looks like a case of heat soak causing vapour lock. After it cooled off, it started easily and I drove it 10 miles to home.
It has been in the garage since then and I tried to start it over the last few days. It cranks fine, fires once to kick the starter out, but will not start. I tried all sorts of combos (charging the battery in between) like choke, no choke, some choke etc.
I pulled the plugs, all looked ok, a couple were dry, a couple were oily wet but not gas wet. I also tried adding an oz of gas into the carb. But nothing different happened.
So I changed the fuel filter, and tried all over again. Still the same results, one fire to kick the starter out, but no start.
I don't know how something can go bad by just sitting in my garage after running fine.
Any ideas to try?
