but the winch drum is disengaged with the dog clutch and held in place with the little winch drum brake pad, so the drum and cable do not turn while the shaft within the drum turns. I'm not being scarcastic at all. Instead, I'm giving you a first hand experience (as you requested) so you will see it with your own eyes and have it stick in your mind. I hope the "seeing" experience will displace your incorrect memory, clear your mind, and insert what actually happens under your truck. It took a bit of thought on my part to come up with a simple exercise you can perform at home to grasp the point I have been trying to make all along. Good luck with the 3.!
