With the manual and 4.10 it should do the job on the occasional trailer pull just fine. I have a 95 360 auto 3.55 setup and it pulls pretty good. I only had trouble one time and I was bucking a nasty head wind pulling my Charger and it shut the AC compressor down a few times to give it more power. I only got about 9mpg that trip. Usually get 13 pulling my car. About 17 mpg on a normal long haul interstate drive. The V10 and Cummins is the way to go for more power but the cost is greater.
The new 24 valve Cummins is not getting the MPG that the old 12valve Cummins did.
All in all if you are planning on keeping the truck for a LONG TIME get the Cummins. I wish now I would have got a Cummins in my 95.
The 360 WILL DO THE JOB but the v10 or Cummins will do it better.
