was for the propellor shaft to the forward of the two tandem axles on a WW II Dodge WC62/WC63 1-1/2 6X6 ton truck. It may have been installed on your 58 PW (with or without the parking brake drum) during a transfer case rebuild or parking drum replacement. The former owner of your PW was misinformed; it was not for driving the rear implement shaft.
