Try George_Wellman@sbphrd.com He can manufacture an adapter that will work to whatever ratio you need. As I understand it the 5.83 gears used a 4-tooth driver gear. But with 4.89s you need a 5-tooth driver gear. He'll custom make one for about $85. I haven't done mine yet, but plan on it shortly. I have a 53 M37 with a 353 Detroit Diesel repower and 4.89s. I top out at about 65 on the HWY but my new speedo (without the adapter) reads about 47 mph.
