I have used many Holley 2-barrel carbs on IHC V-8s. They are about the simplest carb to rebuild and to get parts for, just half of a Holley four barrel. You could pull one off of a truck in a junkyard and rebuild it yourself or get a brand new one through any speed shop, or even mailorder like Summit Racing. Make sure not to get the 500CFM, get the 390CFM version.
This conversion may disappoint you unless the cam is changed and even then, with stock maifolds, there is not going to be enough flow to really increase performance much. This engine design is just not very condusive to effective hot-rodding. I understand the impulse, so good luck and let us know how it turns out.
