The two speed trans would not work in a W500, or should I say, it would render the front axle useless, when 4wd is needed.

The two speed rear in a Dodge gives you ratios of 5.83/8.11 or 6.14/8.54 depending on the model. So the "other" gear is actually lower than your highway gear.

Better off with a 5spd od or brownie.
