I had a similar problem with the clutch master cylinder in my W500 also, in that it would not hold pressure (me thinks there is a common theme here!). Anyway a quick trip to the local NAPA for an inexpensive rebuild kit and everything has been fine since. My clutch master cylinder was in very good shape, it just had a bad seal that was leaking.
