starter relay

I'm rewiring my sons 78 power wagon. This has been a slow process and as time has gone by we seem to have wired the starter relay wrong. Even when I get the motor to spin I can't get any fire to the plugs. The wiring manual I have doesn't show exactly how to wire the relay. If anyone could explain what I need to do or draw me a diagram I would really appriciate it. Thanks Jerry
