IAY 4004 C1 distributor...

My '48 with the '57 230 ci has an IBR 4001 vacuum advance distributor in it. If my interpretation of the PIF is correct, I can install the IAY 4004 C1 I have on the shelf and eliminate the vacuum advance problem altogether. Is my thinking sound? Thanks
