Several years ago I bought a winch from a guy here in Sandpoint who worked for a govt. cleanup contractor in Alaska. At the end, they dug giant holes with huge dozers, drove all kinds of trucks and other equipment into the holes, and covered them up. The workers were given strict warning not to remove anything, but lots of winches found their way back here and to other places. Typical govt. mentality. Cheaper to waste than to save.
