Yesterday I went to the scrap metal dealer near me. In the back I had seen an PW wrecker. I looked at it a few times but this time I went back and got some parts. The hood was the old WC style with the short height cowl and flat hood. I tore apart the front axle and got the hubs, spindles, backing plates and best of all, the cleanest set of Bendix-Weiss axles I have ever seen. When I pulled them out of the housing they were still well greased and not a spot of rust anywhere on them. I also got the first series crash box tranny and cable shifted PTO. I don't know what model it is until I get it apart and inspected better. I also the single speed xcase. The front pumkin gears set came out and they were only slightly pitted in a couple of spots. This truck also had the WC style knee action shocks as well. All this for $250. I'm glad I rescued these parts before they get around to scrapping the truck. Sometimes it pays to go back for a closer look I guess.
