K, I got 20mpg at about 50-55mph in my TWPW with a Poly 318, 4.10 gears, 265ish hp and 340ishft.lbs. at 5000lbs o truck. It will do 90 easy!
Flat head flow characteristics are craaap. Dawn of time technology. 318 Stroker Poly flow heads are producing 400hp and 440ft. lbs.
I drove flatheads a long time... Got no use for them. 14mpg at 40mph wow!
