Try testing the radiator next, then the head gasket.
The kits are still sold, that test for combustion gasses in the radiator cap. Or, a smog sniffer, usually used in the tail pipe, will also pick up hydrocarbons in the radiator. For that you'll need to find a shop willing to do the test, but it may be cheaper than buying the kit.
