I have been working evenings this week getting our Pop-up Camper ready for a trip to Prince Edward Island (Canada) the week after next. I had some canvas to repair, and assorted other small tasks. The plan for tonite was to apply a coat of "Canvak" onto the canvas. It is a watery oil based product that protects and seals the canvas. I did about half of it and then quit to have dinner. After dinner, my plan was to finish up applying the Canvak, and then spend the rest of the evening working on the M37. So, I headed back to the shop after dinner, put on a pair of nitrile gloves, picked the 3/4 full gallon of Canvak, and promptly dropped it onto my workbench. Now I know that all of you have perfectly clutter free benches, with no tools and bits and pieces strewn on it, but I do! I quickly righted the can, and actually managed to save a bunch of the Canvak, but about a quart was sloshed all over the crap on the bench. It took about an hour and most of a roll of paper towels to clean it up. I think I may have let slip a tiny bit of profanity, but nothing stronger than "oh my gosh" or something like that. (Yeah right!) Anyway, got it cleaned up, finshed applying it and had just enough to finish. The rest of the evening went better, working on the M37!
