I didn't want black, and I didn't want red, so I compromised. I added a smidgeon of black to the red.
Pressure washed, sand blasted the head, acid bathed the whole shebang. Used BBQ paint as the primer. It may actually stick.
Down side? It looks like a Cornbinder motor. Waah. Oh well, not too much will show when I get done bolting on all the black accessories and brackets.
But I do think I'll crimson the power steering box too. TC is black already.
