I use the "battery minder" automatic battery maintainer. They look like the old trickle chargers, but are controlled by a computer it appears to monitor the battery and only charge when necessary. They advertise that they are effective at minimizing sulfation and keeping the battery fully charged. I use these on all my equipment that is not used that much, e.g. power wagon, Gravely, lawn mower, tractor. I routinely get 8 plus years on these batteries. Results have been very satisfactory for me.
