You can post the load-something like one pallet weight 600lbs from XXX town to xxx town.
You can name a price and wait for a trucker to accept, or leave the price blank and let them tell you waht they will charge.
Truckers many times have some room on the trailer (or truck) and consider this free extra money since they are already heading that way anyway.
