Dad was a medic . No stories about battles. He tells the stories he wants to tell. I just listen. My uncle Mike was the same way. A combat engineer in North Africa, and Europe. Actually a better story teller than Dad. No battle stories from him as well. He always said with a twinkle in his eye and a little chuckle ,that he walked from North Africa to Berlin.
