I found an NP540 transmission in a local salvage yard. It was in a 1974 D600, with an industrial 413 engine.
I didn't buy it, though, because I wasn't sure what ratio it had for 5th gear.
The only identifying information on the transmission was on a tag, which I kept.
The tag reads:
MODEL 540
RATIO 741
SERIAL 9 4 73
ASSEM. NO. 3733174 DL162
Can you help me to interpret this tag?
