I'll bet there is a piece of crud in the inlet needle/seat, just inside of where the fuel line connects.
You might be able to do a jack-leg fix by disconnecting or pinching off the fuel line, then run it until it dies, they allow fuel to flow. The incoming rush of fuel with the inlet wide open may blow the crud into the bowl.
