Good point, but I wouldn't count on the timing light as the only indicator of no spark. I recently had a similar problem and the timing light indicated no spark.
I finally figured out that the distributor was 180 degrees out. The timing light was either intermittently defective or not sensitive enough to sense the spark.
It seems to me the spark on the FFPW's is pretty weak. They may have trouble triggering some timing lights.
