There is Tony's Tire Service here in Indy. If you ask them to break down a split rim they will ask you if it is a two piece wheel. If it is two half's bolted together like a fork truck rim and it is for on road use they will tell you they cant work on it. If it is a split ring they can. And they will correct you if you call it a split rim.
They say no thats a split ring. They will work on those no problem.
