Try this next time. Remove one bolt at a time from the Trans/to the bellhousing and replace it with a six inch bolt. After all four are replaced you can slide the trans. back along the bolts enought to replace the clutch. Then just slide trans back in place. A older gentlemen tought this several years ago at the fairfield rally when i was replacing my clutch in the super 8 parking lot. Have to love the wisdom of our elders. I have also used a modified version of this trick on NV4500 that i could not get lined up to bolt in place. so I took some long bolts and cut the heads off in threded them in to the bellhousing to create long dowels that lined everything up for me
