When I put my 440 back together it would not prime the filter with oil and therefore I had no oil pressure. I just loosened the filter to release some air when cranking it over. A little oil began to drain out when it was running but then I tightened the filter while the truck was off, then restarted the truck and had oil pressure within 5 seconds.
Don't know if this will fix your problem but it helped me.
