I used black rustoleum over rwedoil based prime, "Rust Destroyer". On the running boards the rustoleum was very soft, needed repaint. Under the chassis, it looks like the road breeze is enough to wear the paint away. No flakes, just every time I get under, there are less painted areas than before. Looks like I missed half the parts.
Silver was the legit color for later years. But spray bombs are useless.
