AAA: Anyone can come on to a Forum that does not require a registration and password protocol. In the past, the forum software provided a minimum level of security. This was okay and there were few problems.
Now there are people who apparently do not know how to follow established forum procedures to post images. Or maybe they are too lazy. Either way, they are using social networks for this.
I frequently have to go to the Image icon and click on "View Image" to see an incorrectly posted image of someone's Power Wagon. Any time I am routed to a social network, I back out and do not give them my information.
When we click on "View Image" we may go to a social network such as Facebook and it's free. All we have to do is enter our e-mail address and choose a password. The reason it's free is that the network may be selling or sharing your information.
While dealing with a nasty virus, a highly qualified computer security technician advided me to never use Facebook.
One characteristic of sites like Facebook is that people can "bad mouth" each other and elicit reprisals - which could include malicious postings.
PC World magazine had an article about this.
Not my $.02 - see what PC World says.
