Are you asking me this question?
If so, here is my opinion:
Several people have posted over the past few
days regarding what they BELIEVE transport
rates should be
Someone posted you can hire a semi truck
and trailer for $1.50 a mile while
another person who apparently operates
a semi truck & trailer posted it costs
him $2.00 a mile to operate his equipment
The COST of transport has nothing to do
with the PRICE you paid for the vehicle
Power Wagons are heavier - taller - longer
than an average vehicle so they LEGITIMATELY
cost more to transport than an average vehicle
The economy in general SUCKS all up & down
the west coast - that is why the Seller
of your Power Wagon had to find a Buyer
east of Oregon
Because the economy SUCKS - it is difficult
to get a connecting load into California,
Oregon, Washington to be able to pick up
According to Mapquest - Freewater, OR to
French Lick, IN is 2100 miles minimum
$3300 divided by 2100 miles comes out to
be $1.57 a mile
If you believe you can drive with a truck
and trailer round trip from your home
to Freewater, OR and back again (4200 miles
minimum) for less than that - you should
go get it yourself if you have suitable
equipment and time to make the trip
I have hauled (2) Power Wagons for Doug
from Oregon to New York - he went thru
the broker shell game on the first one
My advice is:
Do not buy a Power Wagon 2100 miles from
home if you cannot afford to haul it
