The block is stamped with 40 between the center two cylinders. The pistons are also stamped 40 after I cleaned off the carbon. There is some ridge but I will have to check tonight how much is carbon and how much might be cylinder wear. There is a significant amount of carbon for an engine that is supposed to only have about 10K miles on it. I guess I am questioning the quality of the rebuild and I want to make sure this is a solid short block. My brother is hoping to put a mild cam, a 4 barrel with aluminum intake and headers on this engine and it seems a waste of time and money if the rebuild wasn't done right or it has way more miles than he was told.
