I understand your comments, but to get a good straight sheet metal truck with a good engine, tires, drivetrain, very little rust is going to cost around what we paid for the Danish WM300's at 7-7.5K. When you replace the bed with a civilian one after body work at 1-1.5K, then a winch and bumper at 1-1.5K,
then add nice rear fenders at around 350, rear running boards, tailgate, and PTO you are going to have 10K invested before you begin to turn a wrench.
It is a sad state of affairs that the prices have escalated so far beyond reasonable but if we keep paying for this stuff at these rates it will only go higher....Al
