Matchbox makes the Motor Trend PW and it is 1:24, not 1:18. I wish it were 1:18 -- then I would have all kinds of 3 3/4" - 4 inch drivers to sit behind the wheel and it would look really cool going to a car show with my 1:18 scale Ultimate Soldier Xtreme Detail MB and Kubelwagen :-).
I have the Matchbox Texaco truck, and it is definitely 1:24. I am looking for the Motor Trend one, and having lots of fun doing it :-).

BTW, Brian, I've been wondering if you know about the Johnny Lightning milvehs and about the Johnny Lightning dragster series -- they seem right up your alley.
