On dry ground, rock, or ice they sit on all those track grousers and rollers - no fun at all really.
Once there's more than 2" of snow the bottom surface of each pontoon acts like a ski and the whole thing sits like a floatplane, with the skeletal tracks dragging it along.
If you think that's clever you should see the four track drive with wagon steer both ends - I still look under mine every now and again to marvel at it.
