Not sure I understand, but if i do, sounds like you will have some kind of thread to extend the 8' sections to 16', with reinforcements, perhaps an internal sleeve? Might work. I'm worried about cut threads weakening the poles, which the reinforement sleeve should help. My geometry on my m-37 looks like I need at least 11' boom to clear my cab with the back-stays, and to get any reach, I need to go to 12'. I have no drawings or spec's, just brainstorming now. I am hoping for a 2000 lb load max. I know thats alot, but would be no farther than 3' from the front bumper for that much, and greatly reduced for reaches farther out. I may put an electric winch on the back bumper, and use it for the backstay for light duty. If anybody has any ideas for keeping the two-section boom poles "in column", I'm all ears too!
