I've never tried to tackle a project as big as a frame but here's my experience.
I have one of those gravity fed sand blaster you get at Sears. It does an ok job but it takes me about 3 afternoons to strip down one of those old metal lawnchairs. I use fine sandblast sand and it does a good job but its slow.
I have a 5hp 20 gallon compressor and a smaller fleetwood 5 gallon compressor I hook up together to blast.
If you are serious you need the biggest compressor you can buy and get a pressurized sandblaster unit. It still will take you some time to blast the whole frame. It may be better to take the frame to a pro and let them strip it. It will take you a lot of time and electricity to do it at home.
Wear a mask the silica will hurt you in the long run.
