I have a 70 W300 that came from the factory with a 318, NP435, mechanical clutch. When I got the truck, it had a 440 in it, but both engines use 2 motor mounts and one trans mount. As I understand it, 69-71 used the same setup.
The owner before me butchered the 440 install with the wrong bell, so I went in search of a compatible bell housing. I had trouble finding a 69-71 mechanical bell.
I did find a 68 hydraulic bell housing that was drilled for both NP435 and NP545 transmissions, and featured two bell housing mounts.
The NP435 in the truck has a rear mount, but the NP545 I bought with the bell does not. This means I had to run the bell housing mounts.
As luck would have it, the crossmember in the frame was setup for both types of mounts, I just had to drill out the rivets and move the crossmember forward. Also convenient was that the crossmember shares a common mounting hole with the rear leaf sprint saddle.
Rather than try to track down a center front mount, I just ran 2 on the engine and 2 on the bell. The cab already had a mounting hole for the master cylinder, just had to drill a hole in the clutch pedal.
I think this is a superior setup, and it looks totally factory. I have no idea if any trucks ever shipped with 4 mounts like this. Hope this helps.
