Cost is a big factor. Springs + shipping can add up. I myself always go for NOS on any part, except where S&S gets too much or if reproduction is not available.
Unless your springs are flat or arched downward, use as is for a softer ride.
A stock truck is raked frontwards to carry heavy loads and level out. If reproduction springs are overarched or made of stronger material, it will change that.
If you want a leveled out look on an unloaded truck, that's fine, just don't expect it to handled the same as a stock truck with a heavy load.
Use of the truck is a big factor in deciding which way to go on springs.
