I have been using Pennzoil 10W40 in Power-Wagons for over 30 years, in both rebuilt and non-rebuilt engines. Nothing negative to report. You may want to inspect the insides of the valve covers and the pan for sludge before you run a detergent oil in an engine that has had only non-detergent ran in it though.
