I had to heat the 'box' red hot to reverse the bends, plus weld in a the tubular socket from a scrap right door. Works good, looks like stock.
But a word of caution. I don't think my truck has an difference from stock. But the key will only unlock a door that was locked from outside. If somebody inside does not want to let you in, the inside lock is not opened by the key. It works that way on both of my doors, it's not something I screwed up on my l/r adaptation. It's a really, really good idea to leave a window partially open if you leave your dog in the truck.
Once I left my keys in the ignition, with the doors locked. I almost starved to death before I could get out. ;^)
