What you call the more traditional square with the 90 and 45 degree angles is also known as a Carpenter's square. What you picked up at the show is a Combination square, also known as a Machinist's square, as was mentioned it is missing two heads. You still got a very good deal at $3, looks to be in very good shape and just about any American made combo square from back-in-the-day is a high quality tool.
