I heard back from the machine shop. The head was out .009, and passed the magnaflux test. Its all ground flat now and I will pick it up tomorrow. I borrowed a proper straightedge from the machine shop and checked the flatness of the deck. It was .003 at the worst, the book allow .008 so should be good to go.
So, what is the consensus on head gaskets, bare, or copper coat? I have always put them in bare, but am interested in others experiences. I am using a Govt issue NOS head gasket.
Thanks,
Tim
