OT, rifle question

I saw in a Sportsmans Guide catalog a chamber insert that will allow using less expensive Tokerov (7.62x25) ammo in my Mosin Nagant (7.62x54). My question is, does using an insert turn the rifle into a single shot rifle? The Mosin Nagant does not have a clip, but holds its bullets internally. I cant imagine that the smaller bullets would chamber the same as the longer ones it was designed for. But, I can see it working if you were feeding them in one at a time.
