Still working on the steering column of that old trolley. I got a good used coupling for the bottom end, but now I see the wheel itself is loose at the top of the column. I can't figure out how to get the horn button out. I pried on it and broke the plastic cap off, but the rest of it is a mystery. Before I go ahead and destroy the whole thing (we don't have a working horn anyway), I thought I'd ask if anyone knows how to get the works out. I've been told the coupling was used from something like '69 to '73 on D100 and W100 Dodge trucks, so presumably the whole column is the same. After I broke the black plastic cap off, I see a white plastic disk about 3" across with a small notch on one side of it. Behind that notch there appears to be a couple of metal tabs. I've tried pushing on them every way I can think of with a screwdriver, but nothing seems to make the mechanism come loose. Any ideas?
