Been trying to get this engine to run, had it going about 6 weeks ago, and it quit. Have done all sorts of stuff to get it running again, with no luck at all. Today, I pulled the oil pump to check that it was timed right, and imagine my distress when antifreeze poured out the oil holes in the block. I checked the oil and it was about 2" up the dipstick from the full line.
Engine was a trade, and is a fresh rebuild. I had pulled the head to see the cylinders, and put on a new gasket. A head gasket leak is my only easy repair, as I see it. A cracked block and its toast and I am back to the starting line. Time to go check the liquor cabinet.
