One had an external switch and was used until nearly the end of 1947, and the other has an internal switch and was used from the very end of 1947 until 1950. 1951 and newer used the same internal switched dome light with a painted bezel.
So for a 1949 you would expect to find the internal switched one with the chrome bezel.
As for the door switches, I have seen that a couple times, but it always looked like a cobbled home made thing, not a factory install. I have never heard of a factory door switch for the dome light in a Power Wagon.
