Mc Master Carr (www.mcmaster.com) has the flexible airline in many different materials. We used to use Polyethylene for a application were we need to remote read gauges and it worked fine. The PE is soft and kinks easy. Currently we are using the nylon which is much harder, it will still kink and it seems more likely to crack when kinked. I have never had problems with the push connect fittings leaking and we use them as quick connects and are constantly taking them apart and reassembling them. My shop is copper but if I did it again today I would probably investigate the nylon tubing with a looping system like you mentioned. If it is good enough for air brakes I think it might work for my garage.
