There's a lot to be said for a turbo or supercharger on a flattie. You don't need to increase the compression ratio, with a turbo it's fairly simple to make up the exhaust so it bolts to the original exhaust manifold, where a supercharger would benefit from extractors. I've seen pix of a SV V8 using a small 4 cyl toyo blower mounted above the carb and driving off a double pulley from the front of the engine, also looked at the Graham supercharged car from late 30's for ideas. We don't see a lot of CNG in Oz, but plenty of LPG conversions. Maybe a variable turbo blowing through a straight gas carb?
