Having driven Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth cars with flathead engines, I know that the cars had the throttle linkage that crossed over the top of the head.
Sometimes, the car intake manifold mounted the carburetor 90 degrees off from the position of a truck manifold. That's why some carburetors had a different base where the butterfly was mounted 90 degrees off.
