the brake piston can only travel too far inboard if you allow the adjuster to go to the fully retracted position on the cam. be mindful of the cam's position or you can experience the leak described above. im sold on the disc conversion but did have good service from properly installed and renewed drum brakes. read back issues of the PWA, gordon covers brakes in almost every issue....
